We are balanced trainers!
Dog training involves making decisions for your dog.
A balanced approach to dog training is similar to a balanced approach to parenting. We need to reward good behavior but also create boundaries and correct/guide them when they make undesirable decisions. This should always be done in a fair and gentle way. On the reward side, we have treats, physical/verbal praise and playtime. On the correction side, we might use a leash, e collar, prong collar, etc. Balanced training is the combination of these two methods! All training equipment is optional and based on your personal goals for your dog.

Board and Train FAQs
Where will my dog stay during their board and train?
Your dog will stay in home with our trainer! We don't keep them at a facility on their own because we want to simulate what its like having your dog in home. We want to give you the most realistic results possible!
Do you offer any type of guarantee with the board and train?
Vetter Dog Training offers free refresher lessons after your dog finishes the board and train program! Sometimes it takes more than just 2 hours to teach owners..and that's OK! We will work with you until you feel comfortable.
Can I come visit my dog during their training?
We don't do any visits during the 2 weeks BUT we provide DAILY updates for you while your dog is away! This includes pictures, video and text updates to show you how much fun your dog is having!
Do I have to use an e collar to train with you?
No! Our training is centered around e collars so you will definitely get the best distraction based results with an e collar. But there are other options, give us a call!
Do you teach us after our dog is trained?
Absolutely! At the end of the 2 weeks, we will meet up for a 2 hour turnover. In the turnover, we will teach you exactly how we trained your dog and how to continue working with them. The turnover is basically a transfer of rules and guidlines for your dog!
